This blog is an online conversation on how we can better face change in our lives and communities. It is for people who believe that continuous change for the better is possible and worthy of our attention and constant effort. It recognises that in the uncertain times we live in we can no longer rely on the past models of thought or action but must delve into the present as we find it and come up with new ways of thinking about the issues that face us. It involves surfacing the resistances to change that exist in any situation and through dialogue and reflection coming up with innovative ways of overcoming them.
Postings will draw current theories of change exploring such themes as the reasons we embark on change, how we overcome our resistance to change, and the resources that we can draw on to do so. In time, we hope that readers will provide us with stories of facing into change which will bring these theories to life. Growth and change are continuous processes, there is no point at which we can say our work is done, or that we have the solution. We hope this blog will grow with experience too.
Our primary audience is people and communities who are open to change although we believe the content will also be of interest to educators or others who support individuals or communities to innovate. We intend to reach out to whoever wishes to explore these themes. Because people rarely face into change alone and the consequences of change affect us all.
